tuesday treasures...

I just love jewellery with personality and so when I found The Vintage Pearl on one of my blog wanderings I just had to bookmark this baby.  You can find their website here, their facebook page here and their blog here.  I especially love the necklaces and rings using old spoons, I love the detailing on them, they are just so beautiful.  Adding them to my ever growing list of 'I must get me some of those'!!

thankfulness thursdays...

It's that time of the week again, time to look back on some of the things that brought the happy to my week from my #100happydays on the red delicious facebook page...

{Day 10}  A new project to try - love exploring new crafts to see if they will be something I want to do more of - I still haven't got round to doing this but it sits on my desk waiting for inspiration...and time!


{Day 11}  Sometimes you just need a night of dreaming, idea pondering, planning, list making...or having the pen and paper ready beside you while you eat some Tim Tams and watch some telly!


{Day 12}  Finally some crafting action - quilting up a storm...bliss


{Day 13}  Confirmation, encouragement, inspiration and uplifting - watch Dr Libby's speak about the cavewoman vs the modern day rushing woman here - so worth the time spent to listen to her and to know you are not alone or a failure as a mother, woman and/or wife...no words...


{Day 14}  Nothing out of the ordinary just a good old fashioned productive and satisfying day - productive day at work, grocery shopping done and full cupboards, time spent giving to a community club and meeting some lovely ladies as well - just a good day all round


{Day 15}  Early birthday lunch out surprise with a great friend, had a few struggles along the way and forgot to enjoy the journey temporarily today, helped back up by my kind kids and husband and then ended the day on a sweet note when I found these gorgeous mugs by Caroline Rose Art which I talked about in my tuesday treasures post this week and her Etsy shop is here...I ordered the red caravan one and it's on it's way to me now and I am so excited!


{Day 16}  It was my birthday on Day 16 and what a great day!  Thoughtful presents, thoughtful words and actions and a thoroughly enjoyable day which started with being presented with these gorgeous creations from my girls - hard not to be happy really


{Day 17}  Watching Pitch Perfect for the hundredth time with my teenagers and it's still as cool as the first time I watched it - aca-awesome!!  Man I wish I could sing so bad!!  Just bust out a big song with ease and a gutsy rich voice...*sigh*

So all in all a good week has been had and much to be thankful for!

tuesday treasures...

Now this Tuesday is a little less ho hum than most and that is because this Tuesday is my birthdays eve!  It seems that it doesn't matter how I old I get or what the number is that I am turning I still remain excited and delighted by my birthday.  It's a celebration not of the number you are turning but of the mere fact that you were born on this day, a celebration of your very existence.

Since having my own children and being privileged to be part of bringing a life into the world and in awe of the little miracles we all are, birthdays hold even more meaning for me.  Every time one of my children's birthdays comes around I am taken back to that moment in time when through a great deal of hard (and flipping painful) work they arrive to take their first breath and begin their journey and I am...blessed, grateful, in awe, speechless, touched to the core and in love!  It is these experiences that have given even more meaning to my own birthday where it was my Mum seeing me take my first breath to began my journey.  See, how can you not be excited about your birthday, the day you get to celebrate the day you began your journey on this earth?!

Anyway this is meant to be a post about treasures so I thought I would share with you one of the many blogs that I enjoy visiting - Attic 24.  You can find the blog here but the treasure I want to share with you I found on her post here and it is these absolutely beautiful mugs designed and made by her friend Caroline Rose.  Caroline Rose has an Etsy shop here and a facebook page here. She also does notebooks and artworks using mixed media collage and prints.  Her work is just so cute and colourful and I totally love it!!  In fact I have just ordered a red caravan mug and can't wait to receive it!
